Davey Boy Smith Jr. Still Wanted By Police Despite Apology To Jake Roberts

Harry Smith and Jake "The Snake" Roberts

Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Jake “The Snake” Roberts may have squashed their beef after an altercation this month, but police say Davey still needs to be located before charges can be dropped.

As previously reported, Smith is wanted by police in New Orleans, Louisiana for throwing coffee in Jake‘s face at WrestleCon on April 7 and he posted an update on social media over the weekend saying:

“I’d like to announce publicly and officially that I spoke with Jake Roberts on the phone today and we squashed heat we have for what happened at the WrestleCon event,” Smith wrote on Facebook.

“I apologized and said I would apologize publicly as Jake agreed he would be dropping any charges pressed against me. I’m a man of my word and I’d like to say sorry to any fans that I stressed with this situation also. I wish Jake all the best and glad that we squashed the heat. I actually had spoken to Roddy Piper before he passed away about the podcast Jake and he did. I’m certainly glad we worked things out, as Roddy died [not] long after.”

However, a rep for the New Orleans Police Department told Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet that charges have not been dropped yet and explained: “Since this is a municipal charge, the victim can withdraw all charges by going through the city attorney’s office once the perpetrator has been located and either arrested or issued a summons.”

The rep adds, “As far as we are aware, Smith is still wanted at this time.”
