The Rock Starring In New Movie Based on Robert Ludlum Book, Rock Comments

The Rock

The Wrap reports that The Rock will be starring in a movie based on the late Robert Ludlum’s best-selling book “The Janson Directive” for Universal, which is hoping for a multi-film franchise similar to the “Jason Bourne” series.

Rock will also executive produce the movie with his business partner Dany Garcia and their seven Bucks Productions company.

The movie follows a former clandestine operative, presumably The Rock, now working as the best private security consultant in the world. The consultant is framed for a horrendous crime and must team up with the protegee sent to kill him to survive.

Rock commented on the movie:

“‘The Janson Directive’ is classic Robert Ludlum. Sharp, edgy and layered storylines. The character is complex, conflicted, bad ass and lethal–I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this and bring him to life.”
