Apparently, he was horsing around with a fan outside the Boston Pizza restaurant, where he made a special appearance earlier in the day. They were going to slam guitars together, but the fan missed hitting HTM's guitar, and accidentally hit his hand instead. Honky Tonk Man ended up almost losing a finger as he had to be rushed to the hospital. He needed eight stitches and was able to save the finger.
