It was reported several weeks ago that WWE officials were considering four Superstars as Ronda Rousey’s tag team partner at WrestleMania 34. In order of preference, those names were The Rock, Kurt Angle, Shane McMahon and Seth Rollins. WWE apparently considered another big name to team with Rousey … Batista.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Batista said that he talked to WWE about teaming with Rousey at WrestleMania 34. Of course, the role of Rousey’s partner ended up going to Angle and they will be facing Stephanie McMahon and Triple H this Sunday.

During an interview last month, Batista said that he would love to return to WWE.

“I would love to go back [to WWE],” Batista said. “I’ve been very vocal about that. Never say never.”

Batista added that he hasn’t accepted a WWE Hall of Fame induction because he feels that his career is not over.

“I haven’t accepted a nomination into the WWE Hall of Fame because I just don’t feel like my career is over,” Batista stated. “I still feel like I have plenty to offer, but now it’s a scheduling issue and it’s also a creative issue. You never say never, but I’d love to go back.”
