Paige has no idea what WWE plans on doing with her character.
Speaking at a Q&A at the Wizard World Comic Con in Portland, Oregon over the weekend, Paige said she doesn’t even know whether her character is heel or face.
2015 was hardly a bad year for Paige. Starring on Total Divas, guest judging on Tough Enough, co-leading in Santa’s Little Helper and even launching her own coffee company, Paige was successfully using her overwhelming star power to benefit WWE.
Her character has lacked creative direction since becoming a casualty of the famed Divas Revolution angle. Since turning heel on PCB stablemates Charlotte and Becky Lynch in September — which included a brief rivalry with Natalya — Paige was unsuccessful in claiming the then-Divas Championship at both Survivor Series and TLC before taking time off for a few weeks to recover from a concussion.
Her return to Raw in January saw her team up with Natalya as a face with no explanation provided, going on to lose irrelevant matches and participate in the 10-Woman Tag Team Match on the WrestleMania 32 Kickoff Show.
Paige mentioned at the Wizard World panel that whenever she flies out Raw, she has no idea whether she will wrestle.
When asked if she would change anything about the women’s division, she said more storylines.
“There are storylines coming that you guys will see,” Paige said.
