WWE Cuts Performance Center Trainee

Theophilus Agbi

According to PWInsider.com, WWE has released Theophilus Agbi.

Agbi was among a class of nine recruits to join WWE last October. He had been training at the WWE Performance Center, but never appeared on television or wrestled a match.

Agbi, a former collegiate amateur wrestler, was recruited by WWE without having any experience in professional wrestling.

At 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, Agbi attended Amherst College where he wrestled and was named to the NCWA All-American team in 2013 and 2015. Agbi graduated from Amherst College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in French, as well as Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought (LJST).

According to PWInsider.com, Agbi was released this week along with NXT wrestler Chris Atkins. They’re apparently the only wrestlers to be let go this week.

It was also reported this week that announcer Andrea D’Marco recently parted ways with WWE.
